Once you open a port. Does that port stay open? Reason I ask I have a device and sometimes you can remote into it and some times you cant so I'm trying to eliminate the the firewall as the cause of the problem.

When troubleshooting the problem try issuing the command show local-host on the ASA. This will give you some clues as to what is happening.

Hi,

By definition the FW will open certain ports on demand, I mean, if a TCP connection needs to open 3389 and if the FW rules allow it then it will be opened as long as necessary.

Is this issue occurring across a VPN tunnel?

Thanks!
