I am new to this but had a question. I know there are tool out there that can scan your network that will retrieve data from the network. Does anyone know of one that will do all ip's on the network, names of the computer and etc... Thanks
You can try any ping sweep free utility out there where you can ping sweep a subnet which will provide DNS as well as responding live hosts to icmp.
Now if your a looking for a more fancy network discovery management APP that includes a number of very useful networking utilities Solarwinds have several packages you may try as DEMOs which most of them have Ping sweep integraded in their packages.
