I was wondering, do you think cisco will incorporate blowfish into their Encryption algorhitms?

thanks

Re: General Question about Encryption algorhitms

AFAIK, there's no plans to incorporate Blowfish into any of the VPN devices. We've just incorporated AES into them and that's the direction we seem to be taking.

Re: General Question about Encryption algorhitms

I read in the posting in this forum before, current implementation of AES is in the software only. Any information if the VPN3K`s SCEP will process AES also?

Question: SEP does 3DES at current time?

Re: General Question about Encryption algorhitms

Hello,

I think that SEP processes 3DES also, no ?? As long as I see the document of SEP here, it doesn`t mention what kind of encryption algorithm it process in the hardware.

I think the issue is how to upgrade the SEP module to be able to support newer encryption algorithm such like AES.

Re: General Question about Encryption algorhitms

Assuming software encrypts/decrypts much slower than hardware, then just blast a large file (1GB or so) or Iperf through the concentrator, and measure the difference between DES, 3DES, and AES, may show which was processed by SEP.
