When a VPN enabled router with hardware encryption functionality is negotiating the IPSec tunnel, is it true that the IKE phase is still handled in software and the ISAKMP is then handled in hardware?
Thats true.. that the IKE/ISAKMP is done in Software but once the IPSec tunnel is established, the ESP traffic (IPSec traffic) is sent through using the Hardware Card on the Router.
