Headend router for VPN network !!

Hi all!

I was about to use 3845 router for head end for VPN network with 165 branch sites. However, it turned out to be expensive. what if i use 2800 series router with the appropriate module. the network is supposed to entertain huge volume of traffic. can anyone suggest please??

Re: Headend router for VPN network !!

I think 2811 can handle this task

2811 supports up to 1500 VPN tunnels with the AIM-EPII-PLUS Module

So no problem with 165 VPNs...

If you speaking about huge traffic volume - you should focus on speed of Internet connectivity in head office - If you have 10 Mbit line for head office you get only 60Kbit per tunnel (10Mbit/165)

Hope that helps rate if it does
