Help plan and start VPN

I currently have my main offices networked and have to branch stores connect via 56k leased lines with 2 computers in both branches. This is expensive and slow. I currently have 1 computer in the main office connected to the internet via cable modem and can have cable modems installed in both branches. This computer is NOT connected to my network for security reasons. I would like to convert my leased line system to VPN and continue to use the standalone computer for internet access. I don't know where to start, can someone help me. Tnx

Re: Help plan and start VPN

I would look at pix firewalls - they would cover both a firewall and a vpn need. A pix 501 10 user should cost US400ish. If you need 50 users, it would be 700ish. You can build IPSec tunnels between the pixen to replace the leased line setup

Re: Help plan and start VPN

Thank you for the information. I have looked at the info on the pix 501 and I believe it will meet my needs. Again thanks for the help.
