How can I secure between two 6509 connection?

I'm looking a solution to secure communication between two sites(10KM) which 6509 on each site and giga inter-connection. performance and strong encryption both required.

what's best option? 6509 built-in hardware(module) or software(L2TP/IPSec/..). or external device(ex, PIX535 w/giga interface).

I feel you can make use of VPN PA in 6500 to have the VPN connectivity established between ur locations..
