How does PIX determine time zones?

We found that we needed to set our PIX time to our time+6 hours in order to get the PDM graphs to indicate correct time.

Assuming we in CST are UTC-6, California, PST, would be UTC-8. How does the pix determine which time zone it 'lives in' ?

The pix has no concept of timezone. If using IPSec and certificates you should set the pix clock to GTM, use the clock set command. The problem with DPM graphs may be in PDM, not the pix. Check the time and zone on the PDM client, if this is OK open a case with the TAC.

You can do NTP with ver 6.2.1 This is my CA example:

Scaggs

Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.2(1)

Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 2.0(1)

clock timezone PST -8

clock summer-time PDT recurring

ntp authenticate

ntp server 192.5.41.40 source outside prefer

ntp server 92.216.191.1 source outside
