How L2TP works

Hi All,

I am new to this term. Can PPOE enabled adaptor initiate the L2TP tunnel. I have a LAB scenario here and have to test L2TP tunnel initiaion using cisco 1000 and cisco 3745 router. I see following on my Cisco 10000

vpdn-group 4

request-dialin

protocol l2tp

domain cisco.com

initiate-to ip 192.168.100.1

local name cisco

l2tp tunnel password 7 045802150C2E

Will this router initiate the tunnel to 3745 (i dont have pwd for config ). What all I need. How this process goes..

Please revert..

regards,

Re: How L2TP works

i tried this apparently it works but i could not get it to dial out. You can also look at 2 other methods

i) L2Tp Request Dial-out

ii) L2TP client Initiated Tunnel (This is real cool does L2TP over any PPP interface).

Can you check wht logs u get when u do a debug vpdn
