How To Add Comments?

I have a PIX 515. The configuration file is starting to contain many entries and I was wondering if there is a way to add comments or remarks to individual entries. This will help me know why I added the entries (i.e. access list) when I look at them and what they are supposed to do.

Thanx

Re: How To Add Comments?

I do not believe that the PIX IOS supports this.

Re: How To Add Comments?

You can't add one to a straight access-list.....

If you are using 6.2 and object-groups's you can put a description in the object-group

Re: How To Add Comments?

You can have separate configuration file on your PC, and there you can have remarks (lines starting with ":" character are ignored by PIX when pasting configuration in conf t mode or when uploading via tftp). Not ideal, but better than nothing.
