Hi,
We have around 500 routers ( Cisco 871 ) connected in VPN to the main office.
My question is, how can I keep the vlan 1 up so I could be able to access the router via the VPN even if there's nothing plug in the router except a DSL modem in the WAN port.
Thanks for your help and time!
Guillaume

Use the command "no autostate" under vlan1.

Create one Loopback interface... assign that interface into VLAN -1 .
It will be active and up.

Yeah I already thought about that, I forgot to add it in the topic.
Adding a loopback interface will fix our problem but will be a lot of work to manage with 500 + routers, routing, nat, etc. Because we have to create another subnet for each loopback interface on each router, or maybe I'm wrong...?!
I was thinking, if maybe, someone could have another idea.
Thanks for your reply!
