How to monitor CAS

I am looking for a way to monitor my CAS via snmp or other protocol.  I want to know when the CAM and CAS are communicating and functioning as expected.  How are others doing this?  I had a problem in that the CAS stopped communicating with the CAM.

Lane,

That's one area sorely lacking: CAS monitoring. You can't do SNMP with it. The only thing available are the health statistics that the CAS posts every so often in the CAMs event log. You can script something to monitor and use logwatch or some similar utility to monitor/syslog it for you, but all that is unsupported.
