How to update IDS signatures?

Can anyone help me out...I don't know much about sunOS. Well, I have a 4210 sensor running 3.0(1)S4, how do I update it (how do I download the bin file into the sensor?) Do I also need to update the CSPM too? Help, I'm lost!!!

The best place to start with help is the readme that accompanies every release. The readme steps through the process step-by-step.

In order to get the binary file to the sensor, I'd recommend that you put it up on an ftp server and ftp from the sensor.

You will need to upgrade the sensor with two different files:

3.1(2)S23 for the service pack level

3.1(2)S26 for the signature pack level

Some people had problems with the service pack install 3.1(2)S23, if you have those problems refer to past conversations on this website as they are explained quite well.

CSPM will need to be upgraded as well, the readme also addresses that.
