http caching on PIX-515-E

Hi,

Please advice is it possible to configure http caching on PIX-515.

Actually we have purchased Trend micro webmanager but I understand its not possible to implement webmanager with PIX until a proxy server is running between both.

However I believe webmanager should work with PIX without proxy server if I can configure PIX to forward http traffic to webmanager

I am intend to apply following rules on PIX .

---------------------------------

url-server host timeout 5 protocol udp version 4

is the IP address of the machine running the Webmanager.

filter url http 0 0 0 0 " this is to avoide downtime if webmanager is not running"

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I will appreciate some feedback on above mentioned issues.

Regards,

Khurram

Re: http caching on PIX-515-E

The PIX works with only WebSense and N2H2 to filter users from going to particular URL's. It doesn't work with TrendManager's product.

See http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_62/cmdref/tz.htm#xtocid7

As for your question on HTTP caching, if you're simply referring to URL checking then I answered that above. If you mean does the PIX cache the response from the URL server, then yes, see the "url-cache" command reference here:

Re: http caching on PIX-515-E

I wonder if there are a way to forward all http request incoming to the pix to a single proxy cache?
