HTTP download problem

A client has a 515E running 6.1 code that balks at HTTP downloads from certain sites. No access lists on inside interface. Inside users are using PAT.

Have checked for reverse DNS records on PAT public IP and IDENT protocol presence/workarounds as per Cisco's recommendations for slow or intermittent download problems of this nature.

Looking at debug level logging I don't see anything that could be a problem, a TCP connection is made, the workstation accesses the URL. On the PC, Windows download box pops up, but it never seems to get past 2 or 3% of the download.

Pix logs show no translation or access list issues.

Some HTTP sites download fine (even large file transfers),others have the problem. FTP downloads are fine.

Other clients with PIXs using similar configs have no download issues, (even to the exact same sites)

Grasping straws, I even tried moving an inside PC to a static IP and opening up the firewall briefly

(permit ip any "host 1.2.3.4").

WAN connection is COX cable.

Has anybody experienced anything like this, or have any ideas?

Hi,

Have you tried a PC outside the firewall, to check whether the same site downloads fine, which is having problem?

Thanks

Nadeem
