I am stuck with setting up VPN

I am newby with setting up a router. Right now I was able to set up the router including firewall.

The only problem I have now is that I need to set up VPN.

The VPN is just used for 4 people which need to access the company's network through the internet. I was reading docs for docs and also found some sample configurations. But until now, I still did not check how it works at the end.

The nicest way for me would be if I can define some users in the router which then are allowed to go through the firewall.

We have a Cisco2600 runing IOS 12.1.

I saw some example with the command crypto. But I also cannot find this command. So, how could I set up something towards this?

Any tips or hints would be great.

Re: I am stuck with setting up VPN

This link should help.

You might have to upgrade to the right feature set to run encryption on your router.

Remote users (mobile users) will have to use VPN Client too.

Re: I am stuck with setting up VPN

Thanks for your answer. I was running into this document to already. In this document it is written that the requirements are

- Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0.7T or later

- Hardware that supports this software revision

- CiscoSecure VPN Client 1.0/10A or 1.1

On our Cisco 2600 router we are running IOS 12.1. Well this is what I get from show version at the router's command prompt.

What I understand now is that this should be okay or do I miss something?

I also cannot find the VPN client as well. On the left side on the forum page is a link to the VPN client. But that page cannot be found.

I am quite stuck.

Re: I am stuck with setting up VPN

Sorry. The link for the VPN client is on the right side.

Re: I am stuck with setting up VPN

The vpn client is a software that you have to download using your CCO login from Cisco Software center. Dont know if you are still having problems with this ??
