IDM Accesses

In order to use the IDM tool on the 4235 sensor, I have to log in as cisco. Is there a way to use this tool as an ordinary user? What permissions need to be set?

The IDM has a nice iplog tool which is far superior to logging into the sensor via ssh. I want to be able to let users to use that tool, but not change my configurations.

Re: IDM Accesses

You can create a new user and assign the user role of "Viewer".

Bring up IDM

Click on the Device tab, Sensor Setup, then Users... Click Add and then define your user here... You'll also need to make sure you define their IP address in the "Allowed Hosts" section.

hope this helps

Re: IDM Accesses

I was browsing through the CLI on the sensor abd found a username function to add users. After I added the user that way instead of manually using the useradd command, the user was allowed access to the gui.
