I just configure signature auto update on IDS device manager.

show ver

Upgrade history

*IDS-K9-maj-4.0-1-S36

IDS-K9-min-4.1-1-S47.rpm.pkg

I enable the auto update, and use FTP as protocol, and specified as following:

IP address 10.133.0.15

Directory IDSupdates

User Name anonymous

Password ********

Prptocol FTP

Hourly

13:45:00

Frequency: 24

The lastest signature file : IDS-sig-4.1-1-S50.rpm.pkg was copied to the IDSUpdates directory under the FTP server root directory.

The FTP active session did see the IDS login to the Ftp server and download the file, but the show version, do not see the IDS signature update.

What could be wrong here.

Thanks for advise.

We have seen update problems using anonymous on ftp - try the update with an actual user account on the ftp server. You can also use scp as the file copy protocol.
