Solved: IDS Event Viewer Crash after installing VMS 2.2

Can anyone out there help me? I can't load my event viewer after i had install the VMS ver. 2.2. I prompt that "A serious internal error of unknown origin was detected in the event viewer".

What is the version of IEV (IDS Event Viewer)?

If it is IEV3.1, and you also installed Security Monitor (SecMon) from VMS bundle, then it will cause the problem. The reason is IEV3.1 and SecMon both use PostOffice protocol, it won't work in the same machine. Please let us know.

yes. this is the cause. I stopped the "Management Center for Cisco Security Agents 4.0" daemon. and the Events Viewer works perfectly.

wonder why cisco don't warn the user for such installation.
