IDS Scheduled Reports problem

Hello, we are using Cisco Secure Policy Manager (CSPM) to manage five IDS sensors.

We want to schedule some IDS reports but it seems that is not possible.

Only the predefined reports on the CSPM Reports tree can be scheduled, the IDS reports (as you can see from the Web interface to the CSPM report server) didn't exist in that treeview.

We can only make on-demand reports for the IDS.

We need to schedule these reports in some way.

How we can do that?

Thanks

Current version of CSPM does not support scheduling of IDS reports.

You will have to run them manually yourself, or find a gui test tool that can mimic a user requesting the manual run of the reports. The GUI test tools to do this can be expensive and time consuming to get working so I don't recommend using them.

The other alternative you have is to export the alarms from CSPM using cvtnrlog and import them into your own database. Then create your own reports fromyou own database. This is the route many users have gone when requiring scheduled reports.

This feature may already be planned for the next IDS management release.

Contact your Cisco Sales Representative to determine if that feature is making it into the next version.
