IDS Security Monitor (VMS 2.1) Timeout Question

We have a 24x7 IDS monitoring center that monitors our IDS alerts. However, the timeout for security monitor (cisco works) is preventing them from continuously viewing the events. Can anyone tell me how to disable the timeout? If that's not possible, what solution does Cisco have for 24x7 monitoring of IDS? The event viewer included with the sensor software is not sufficient, since we have 12 sensors that need to be continuously monitored (the max for the event viewer is 3).

Re: IDS Security Monitor (VMS 2.1) Timeout Question

Hi Simpson,

There is no way to disable this timeout functionality. Whereas we can increase the session timeout from default 2 hrs to 4 hrs.

\CSCOpx\lib\jrun\jsm-cw2000\services\jse\properties\session.properties there you need to change a parameter session.invalidationtime. That will be set by default for 2 hrs, you can change it for maximum 4 hrs.

And then you need to restart the daemons.

If we continiously working on the browser the browser session will not get timeout. If we let the browser idle for 2 hrs, only then the session timeout will happen.
