IEV server not responding

IEV 4.0(1) S37 can't estabish a device to IDS 4235 V.4.0 server. Server doesn't responds by creating a sensor device, but there is no problem by connecting the IDS with the IDM web interface.

Error message is:

# IOexception connection refused.

# IEV server not responding. Please check if it is running

How can I check if the IEV server is running and if not how can I start the IEV server at the IDS?

You have to upgrade both the IDS and the IEV signature. Then it works.

A little extra information:

IEV server program is a windows service application resides on IEV machine. You can open windows Services Panel and then check the status of "Cisco IDS Event Viewer" service. Right click "start" to start the service if its current status is not "Started". If you cannot start the service from Services panel, then try to reboot your IEV host which will automatically start the IEV service when it boots up.
