Images for pix501 - box has 16mb all cco images require 32mb
Does anybody know where to get the images for a pix501 on software centre. Are they different images from the regular pix images for 515, 520 etc platforms?
All the images on the software centre are listed as requiring '32 MB RAM AND 8MB FLASH' yet the PIX501 only has 16 MB RAM. Sounds like an upgrade is needed but the software advisor says it is fully compatible without a memory upgrade. This is on the hw/sw compatibility notice 'PIX Firewall models 501, 506, 506E, 515, 515E, 525, and 535 meet all RAM and Flash requirements, no upgrades are necessary to run any supported PIX software releases. '
Re: Images for pix501 - box has 16mb all cco images require 32mb
Don't worry about it. The warning only really applies to the 520 models, which may have had a 2 MB flash ISA card. The 520 is discontinued, but still supported (for now). To run 5.xxx+ revs, owners of 520's needed to buy a 8 or 16MB upgrade card, and replace the 2MB card.
That is why you see "PIX Firewall models 501, 506, 506E, 515, 515E, 525, and 535 meet all RAM and Flash requirements, no upgrades are necessary to run any supported PIX software releases. '"
