Implementing IPSEC VPN on 2621 modular router

Hi,

I'm looking to implement an IPSEC VPN on my 2621 Cisco router (if possible) which is running Cisco IOS 12.2(13)T1. My first questions is whether this IOS version is sufficient for me to implement an IPSEC VPN on this router. This router also has NAT enabled on one of it's Fast Ethernet interface which hosts the internal private network. Is there any documentation on Cisco on elsewhere that I can refer to in order to setup this VPN implementation ? Once this is setup, can the VPN be access by any VPN client software or does it need to be a Cisco VPN client software specifically ?

Do let me know.

Thanks.

Re: Implementing IPSEC VPN on 2621 modular router

Hi,

You can configure IPSec on 2621 as long as you have IPSec(DES or 3DES) image of 12.2.13T1 version.

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/ios-unity.html

(vpn3000 client to IOS configuration)

you can also configure your router as PPTP server, that way you use native PPTP client comes with windows(you wont need cisco vpn client).

Thx

Afaq
