Re: Inter-Vlan routing

PIX/ASA has limited routing capabilities like handling traffic rerouting. It support static route, OSPF, RIP.

If you plan to use ASA to do inter-vlan routing, i.e pointing to ASA internal IP and expect it to reroute/bounce the traffic to other interface out from the internal interface, the answer is no.

PIX/ASA treat traffic routing differently where the incoming traffic must pass through the box, and out to different interface. No rerouting.

But, if on the interface, i.e DMZ interface, you can create sub-interface and hook the DMZ port to switchport as trunk + DOT1Q enacap, this should work, with condition - assign same security level and permit intra-interface communication and use static to map the subnet.
