IOS Firewall problems

I am using a 3660 with the IOS Firewall 12.2.15t2. Everytime I apply the inspection rule it immediately slows the internet down and load times are unacceptable. Any ideas?

Hi,

My suggestion would be to upgrade to 12.2(15)T. There is a boost in performance in that code. Also, please make sure not to overload the router with too much inspection unless it is required. Are you applying inspection on both directions? How is the regular traffic load. Can you get us, "show proc cpu" and "show proc mem" before and after you apply the inspections? Also, curious to se e the config of CBAC portion. Thanks,
