IOS IDS Test File

We are working with the IOS IDS feature set which sends alerts to the Director. One thing I've been having trouble with is generating traffic to the router that the IOS IDS will properly flag and alarm. I've tried getting a test file from Cisco, but to absolutely no avail. How do they validate that their signatures are working? Does anyone have any suggestions? - Amy

Re: IOS IDS Test File

An easy way to get the IOS IDS to fire is to send a loose source routed ping to a host on the other side of the router. One way to generate these is using windows command line:

ping -j
