IP Address assign for VPN Client

Hi,

I am using a 1710 router for VPN client access. The Lan IP is 10.100.1.x / 24.

Can I assign the same IP address pool to the VPN client? or another subnet should be use?

Thanks.

Regards,

Douglas

Re: IP Address assign for VPN Client

Douglas,

Use another subnet and set up any routers to point to it via the PIX inside interface.

I tried using the same subnets on the inside and on the client, it nearly worked but was not reliable

Re: IP Address assign for VPN Client

Hi Andy,

I tried to do the same thing with a router for VPN client access, cannot get it work, can't specific the client traffic to be nonat, I understand it's not the right way to have the pool address same as the LAN segment, but could you show me how to do that.

I did that on PIX, it works fine, for the last six month.

thanks

Simon
