IPsec and gif files issues

Hi,

I am running a couple of VPN connections from 806 adsl router into a 7204VXR headend router.... We are having performance problems when downloading gif files from intranet sites... all aother traffic seems ok....

Is there any know issues with downloading gif file across ipsec tunnels ?

Cheers

Paul

Re: IPsec and gif files issues

There's nothing specific to .gif files that I'm aware of but large files with the don't-frag bit set could be a problem due to the IPSEC header size. You might try to throttle down your MTU on a test PC and see what happens. Cisco's VPN client includes a "Set MTU" application.
