ipsec messages in my logs

hi

I have an ipsec tunnel setup between a cisco 2621 and a netscreen device. it seems to be working in that both sides can ping each other (haven't tried anything more adventureous than that just yet)

but I am getting these messages in my logs on my logging server

IPSEC(encapsulate): error in encapsulation crypto_ip_encrypt

IPSEC(encapsulate): encaps area too small, moving to new buffer:

idbtype 0, encaps_size 84, header size 36, avail 84

searching for 'encaps area too small,moving...' on cisco brings up one document, about DDR ipsec. it is show in the debug config outputs, but no explanation is given

should I be worried about this ? can anyone shed any light ?

thanks

_scott

Re: ipsec messages in my logs

Hi Scott,

The messages you are seeing are not errors but informational messages. I believe they only show up when the 'debug crypto ipsec' is active.

This message is purely informational and should not be affecting your performance.

Regards,

Arul
