IPSec packet order sensitivity

I run data and voice on my IPSec based VPN and I am going to apply QoS to my IPSec connections but I am worried packets arriving out of order on the other end. How sensitive is IPSec to out-of-order packets?

Thanks,

Diego

What type of connection do you have between the 2 locations?

Your best bet in general is to apply QoS at both ends. You wil be fine.

I have a T1 on either end. I use the same provider, Sprint so the hop count should be low. What are the odds that they will respect the ToS settings on my packets?

You are doing this perfectly. T1 or better at both ends, same provider at both ends.

Unless yuo get some of the more expensive circuits then no, they will not recognize your ToS. That being said, with the setup you have and if you get your routers doing QoS correctly you should be fine. I have rolled this out many times and when properly setup it works fine.
