Ipv6 with failover

Hi,

I use 2 Pix in failover Active/standby mode ver 7.0(2). I've start to enable ipv6 on the first interface but I can't add a standby address like for ipv4. I've try to configure ipv6 address without standby address and I've found duplicate address on the second node.

Is it possible to enable ipv6 in failover mode?

Thanks for your answer

Re: Ipv6 with failover

To set the IP address manually, enter the following command:

hostname(config-if)# ip address ip_address [mask] [standby ip_address]

The standby keyword and address is used for failover.

Do not configure an IP address for the Stateful Failover link if you are going to use a dedicated Stateful Failover interface. You use the failover interface ip command to configure a dedicated Stateful Failover interface .

hostname(config-if)# ip address active_addr netmask standby standby_addr

Re: Ipv6 with failover

IPV6 with failover is an unsupported configuration and may cause undesirable results. DO NOT configure failover commands if you have dual stack/ IPv6 configured on any of your interfaces.
