IS PIX 501 a VPN Server?

I recently added the PIX 501 to our network for security and all traffic outside route thru the pix as a gateway.

Behind the pix501, i have a 2000 server and would like to setup VPN service thru the PIX.

Does the PIX501 capable of acting as a VPN Server?

If not, what i need is a VPN PC server behind the PIX. In this scenario, can you give me some info. on this topic.

thank you,

Travis

Re: IS PIX 501 a VPN Server?

Travis,

The PIX 501 has the capability to run VPN. You can setup the VPN on your PIX firewall and have users connect to your network using either the cisco vpn client, microsoft vpn client or you can setup a pix-to-pix vpn solution.

Hope this help
