ISDN BRI - Physical Layer Checking

Hi

Many of our customers has WAN (hub & spoke) with 64Kbps Leased Line (LL) as primary and ISDN BRI as backup link (using “backup interface” command).

When ever the LL is down, at that point of time only we came to know that ISDN BRI also physically down. Customer has NMS in place.

My Question:

Is there any way, where I can test (from hub) the physical layer of ISDN BRI of all the spokes on regular basis (weekly)

Regards

Nedu Durai

Re: ISDN BRI - Physical Layer Checking

Hi,

If layer2 status is MULTIPLE FRAME ESTABLISHED, your backup link is up

show isdn status....can be used for it.

Thanks,

Aarthi.

Re: ISDN BRI - Physical Layer Checking

show isdn status gives the information about all the three layers.

You could refer the following link for more information
