I have a serious problem with Pix 515.
I have upgraded the system to
6.3.1 and the PIX rebooted a few times before coming up. The PIX shows the
following error when it reboots:
imgsum_config: sumval(0xa1b7) md5(0x95937073 0x75b817db 0x54d7811a 0xba7d0214)
imgsum_verify: chksum(0x 0) md5(0x039a46cc 0x7a3f70b3 0xc5deaa28 0x70626c00)
Panic: kernel - The checksum verification for this image failed.
Since the upgrade the PIX seems to reboot randomly leaving a garbage collector log.
I've have not erased the
flashfs with erasedisk622.bin yet
Any ideas?

hi
as you have upgraded the PIX image file, then you must apply the new actiavtion key for this.
What was the previous IOS ? send the "sh ver" to licensing@cisco.com and get the key for your PIX. its available on no-charge basis.

I requested a new activation key and applied it and it did not improve the PIX or change the error.
I believe the previous version was 6.0.1

The current solution that has been working.....
I write erased config.
Converted conduits to ACL's
Upgraded to
Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.3(5)
Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 3.0(4)
Did not apply activation key
All seems well so far.
