LAN MANAGEMENT TOOLS FOR ENTERPRISE NETWORK

Hi,

We would like to know the complete LAN management tool kit which can provide the all LAN traffic within the campus, if all our core switch is made up of 8500 series, and how to put access restriction for the unwanted traffic.

Hey dude,

First of all setup some ACLs, then install cisco works..That should give you all you need.

If you want detailed traffic then install MRTG

I agree with the previous post. CiscoWorks will do the management of the equipment. MRTG will do fine for graphing traffic (load it on a Linux box with Apache www server). Extended ACLs should give you the 'control' that you desire for on-campus traffic, but you may want a firewall for traffic off campus.
