Monitoring VPN Remote Sites (PIX501) in Cisco Works

Hi

I want to monitor our remote Pix 501wich is connected through VPN on our VPN Concentrator 3005.

In my experience I can´t ping the inside interface of the pix from our central side, because the Adaptive Security Algorithm of the PIX 501 is blocking this communication.

So, if this is so, I think there is no possibility to monitor our remote sites with the cisco works standing in the central site.

I can only monitor the inside IP address because the outside IP address is assigned dynamically. The Pix is in Network Extension Mode.

Please correct me, if this is not like I suppose.

Thanks for any suggestions !

Please go through this white paper

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/fw/sqfw500/tech/nat_wp.htm.

This documents few methods of accessing the internal servers from outside network by way of creating conduits to those specific servers. May be you can adopt the same technic to access the internal interface.

No, this isn´t possible on the inside interface, because of the Adaptive Security Algorithm of the PIX 501!!
