MSN Voice chat is not working behind the PIX 515

PIX 515 running 6.2

We allow any outbound connection.

Normal MSN text chatting works fine. Trying to establlish a voice connection doesn't. According to MS you need to allow incoming udp with a source or destination port of 6901. I've done this. However it still doesn't work. Logging shows the packets being rejected aren't destined for 6901 and appear to be random port numbers. Even if I remove the 6901 rule I still don't see any rejections for 6901. Finally we I tried with allowing all TCP/ UDP ports, still it didn't workout ,Has anyone gotten MSN messenger voice to work through the PIX? pls advice

Regards,

Sridhar

I never like blindly suggesting software upgrades, EXCEPT in the case of voice problems through the PIX. There have been numerous voice/nat/pat problems fixed up in later versions of PIX code, versions AFTER v6.2(2) I mean.

Open a TAC case and ask for the latest interim code release of the PIX (currently 6.2(2.138)), explain your problem and they'll send it to you. This'll probably fix up all your voice problems.
