NAC 1 authentication time

I have NAC v1 set up on routers. Everything works OK using CTA 2. Is there anyway of speeding up the initial authentication from client to server?

It seems if I attempt a layer 3 connection (causing posture validation) there is quite a delay. More noticeable if I ping a device. Around 10 pings timeout before authentication succeeds.

I am using the concentrator as NAD, delay is experienced before the message is returned back to the client
