Hello,
I am using a windows DNS server on the inside of a Cisco 871 router. The server is on a NAT network. I cant seem to get the server to dig out to the root servers through that router. I can swap the router with a linksys and it works fine, so I am thinking it is a config issue.
Attached is the config.
Any help will be appreciated.

If the server is located after the router, the issue is with the router which is not allowing the requests from the client to reach the server. Check the access list configuration on the router.

No, the server is on the same LAN as the clients.
The problem is that the server is not able to query the public root DNS servers on the internet. It seems that the router is blocking these requests.
