NAT Timeout values

In older versions of the FOS, you could set the timeout on a nat command - why was this taken away?

what version of FOS are you talking about.I checked in version 5.0 and this was not there either.

not sure on ver 4.x

The options available were:

address: Network address to be translated

dns: specifies that DNS replies that match the xlate are translated

hh:mm:ss - the timeout interval for the translation slot. However, timeout only occurs if no TCP or UDP connection is actively using the translation.

Wow, and I thought I had been working on PIX's for a long time...

Anyway, I never had experience with this command set but I think I do see what this command did. Today, we replace this functionality with the timeout command. See this link for more info:
