Network stagnates and unable to reach core router

We are in NOC setup and all our desktops are connected to the inside segment of the NOC. We similarly have WAN, inside and Outside segments on the PIX 535 firewall. All the traffic towards the NOC are from the WAN segment only. Very recently we encounter a problem that suddenly our entire network went off standstill for a while and will come back within a min or two.

We the people at the inside segment of the NOC will not be able to reach to our core router. But we are able to reach to our core switch or the firewalls. As I said earlier all my incoming traffic are from WAN zone and hence all my users are experiencing loss of service for such time.

If I try to give the command "clear xlate" on my firewall during the network standstill time, immediately my network gets restored but this is only for a while and the problem occurs again.

Please help me to find out a solution for the same.
