New to NAC

My company has asked me to investigate NAC at the headquarters. I'm going over pages of quotes and information,

my question - Do I need to purchase a failover bundle? If not, I assume when the NAC fails, connectivity is open, but I assume a good Smartnet contract can limit that,, money is tight enough and I want to see this happen

Thanks

Ray

Re: New to NAC

A Failover solution is recommended but not required.

In an Inband solution, if the NAC Server fails, all traffic is blocked. In an Out of Band solution, authenticated traffic will continue to work, new authentications will fail.

The NAC Server can be configured to allow or block traffic if the NAC Manager is not available.
