NRS -> 4220

Given previous comments about the older NRS motherboards possibly failing when used with two PIII/600 processors as on a 4230, can anyone advise on issues regarding upgrading an NRS to 4220 level, i.e:

- 1 x PIII/600

- 512 Mb RAM

- IDE HD

- removal of Adaptec card

and what problems this is likely to give with IDS 4.x.

Thanks.

Re: NRS -> 4220

Cisco does not support user's adding/changing parts on the sensors that are not purchased from Cisco.

Cisco does not sell kits (cpu, memory, harddrive, etc..) for upgrading NRS sensors to IDS-4220 or IDS-4230 sensors.

There is no easy way to determine what problems mught be caused by trying to run 4.x on a non-standard system.

You're best course is to talk with your Cisco Sales Representative about possible trade-in programs. You may be able to trade in your NRS for credit towards the purchase of an IDS-4215.
