# of interfaces on PIX 525

I'm looking to buy a 525 with a 4-port add-on. Can I only have 3 "zones" - inside, outside and DMZ? Or is it possible to configure more? Thanks in advance. Couldn't find anything on CCO.

Hi, yes, you can. In fact, this can be verify by doing show version. The feature set of the activation key you have will tell you how many interfaces are supported by this key. By default , it's 2. If you need more, you need to contact customer service to request a new actication key.
