Re: Password recovery for CSC-SSM

This document describes how to recover a password on a Cisco ASA 5500 Series Content Security and Control Security Services Module (CSC-SSM) or the Advanced Inspection and Prevention Security Services Module (AIP-SSM) without having to re-image the device.

Re: Password recovery for CSC-SSM

Just had this same problem on a AIP-SSM 20 in an ASA 5520. Password-reset command would not work for me because I only had IPS version 5.x, 6.x along with ASA IOS 7.3 is requirement for command to work successfully. Therefore I performed a reimage/update to IPS 6.x which caused default account 'cisco' with default pass of 'cisco' to be re-established. But keep in mind that you must rebuild your SSM with re-imaging.
