I noticed when I installed PDM, it shows many more PDM location statements that are not shown in the normal CLI show config. What do the PDM Location statements mean and why does PDM add more of them? Thanks.

Hi,
The pdm location statements shows the association of an interface with an IP address on which PDM resides or in other words where you access the PDM from and as many machines you access pdm from it will add it to the config in the pix and it will keep on growing.
Thanks
Sujit

Hello Sujit. I appreciate you clearing that up for me. I thought this was the case, but then wondered what was this statement for, "http 10.27.16.0 255.255.255.0 inside". Please clarify this for me. Again, I appreciate your time.

This allows 10.27.16.x network from inside interface to connect to the web interface of the PIX.

So both this statement, pdm location 10.27.16.0 255.255.255.0 inside, and this statement, http 10.27.16.0 255.255.255.0 inside, provide the same purpose? Is that what I'm to understand? This should be the last question for me regarding this issue. Just for clarification, I thought the http statement allowed users from the stated subnet were able to get to pdm via a browser. I wasn't sure what the pdm location statement was for. Thanks for your patience.
