A friend of mine has a PIX501 and whenever he boots up, all the lights start to flash and never stop. What could be or is the issue? My first thought is an IOS issue.
Thanks!!

I believe the lights are a diagnostic in nature, indicating a problem with the device.
Your friend should open a case with TAC and if TAC determines that it is indeed a hardware problem, TAC can assist your friend in replacing the device if it is covered by a Smartnet contract.

Hi,
I had the same problem w/ my PIX-501. It worked fine for 6 months then it started to flash anytime a cable was plugged into it. The flashing was actually the PIX rebooting over and over again. TAC replaced it w/ a new one and this second one has been fine now for 7 months.
