PIX 501's with static IP's over DSL

I'm chagred with a task of setting up a VPN tunnel between two sites. And I need a little direction in getting started. Both sites have Static IP's and use ZyXEL ADSL modems. My questions are:

1. Do I need to put the DSL modems in bridge mode?

2. On the outside interface on the PIX, Do I put a different Static IP in the same subnet range that the ISP provided? If so then I guess the internal address of the DSL modems interface will need a different one as well.
