Pix 506e hostname problem

Hi,

I went to change the Hostname of our Pix 506e and got the following message.

%Key pair with hostname CactusJim.parkside.net will be invalid

could anyone tell me what it means?

It means that the crypto keys that are generated we generated by hashing in the hostname and domain name combination for extra uniqueness. It is a warning to let you know that you had better regenerate your keys if you plan to use them for anything. Namely your next subsequent ssh management session!

Run:

ca zeroize rsa

and then:

ca gen rsa key 2048

finally:

ca save all

Yes - change the hostname and then issue the CA commands as posted on the other thread.
